Aerialworx review & service guide

Film, television & FPV

Based on published provider information. We have not commissioned or tested this service.

The assessment in brief

Who should consider Aerialworx?

Aerialworx is a specialist shortlist candidate for producers commissioning aerial cinematography, particularly when camera compatibility, crew coordination and the style of the shot matter. Its published range spans cinema camera platforms, Inspire 3 and FPV, supported by production examples and showreels. Our assessment is that buyers should evaluate it as an aerial production team: match its relevant footage and proposed crew to your brief, then confirm the complete production package rather than comparing flight time alone.

Strengths to consider

  • A published focus on television, commercials, drama and feature films.
  • Cinema, compact and FPV systems for different shot requirements.
  • Showreels and production examples to inform a creative brief.

What to check

  • Agree the exact camera, lens and recording package for your production.
  • Check editing and delivery responsibilities separately from aerial capture.
  • Confirm location feasibility before committing to a complex shot sequence.

Aerial cinematography as a production service

Aerialworx positions its crew around television and film production. Its current site lists heavy-lift systems for cinema cameras alongside smaller drones, and publishes separate cinema, indoor FPV and outdoor FPV reels. This gives producers material to assess against a particular visual style rather than relying on a general claim to offer drone filming.

Share the director's references and the intended role of the aerial footage early. An establishing sequence, a vehicle pursuit and a slow reveal can require different planning and equipment. Ask which crew roles are proposed, how communication with the main unit works, and how much rehearsal time the schedule should allow.

Camera matching and handover

Its Inspire 3 equipment page specifies an X9 camera, recording options up to 8K RAW and CinemaDNG, and a choice of prime lenses. These are advertised equipment capabilities, not a promise that every booking includes every recording format or lens. The useful buying question is which combination supports the production's actual post-production workflow.

Confirm the codec, frame rate, colour pipeline, media handling and backup process with the editor or imaging technician before the shoot. Request an example file if compatibility matters. Include how footage will be named and transferred, whether proxies are needed, and who checks the material before the aerial crew leaves the location.

FPV and location planning

Aerialworx advertises indoor and outdoor FPV work and describes UK, European and international production coverage. Its broader equipment list includes compact drones as well as larger cinema platforms. That breadth is relevant when a creative brief includes tight spaces, changing locations or several types of aerial shot within the same production.

For a fly-through, supply a floor plan or location video and identify people, obstacles and intended transitions. Ask for a feasibility review before promising an uninterrupted sequence to a client. Also agree contingency shots for conditions that prevent the original plan, and whether a technical recce or rehearsal is included in the schedule.

Pricing & getting a quotation

Request a production quote tied to the shot list, dates and camera package. Compare crew, equipment, recce time, travel, overtime, standby days and weather arrangements rather than a bare day rate. Establish whether editing is included and what usage or footage handover terms apply. A package appropriate for a film unit may differ substantially from a short property-marketing shoot.

For a consistent comparison, use our drone service cost guide and buyer’s checklist.

Questions to ask Aerialworx

  1. Which camera, lenses and crew roles do you recommend for our reference shots?
  2. What rehearsal, recce and location preparation will the FPV sequence require?
  3. How will recording formats, footage backups, delivery and weather contingencies be handled?
